NH’s U.S. Senate race: what’s your preference?

(For poll result, see “The Natives are Restless.”)

As if it’s not obvious, this is a thoroughly unscientific poll. If the election were held today, how would you vote in New Hampshire’s U.S. Senate race on November 4? Optional: leave a comment on this post about your choice. Share the poll on social media with your pro-life contacts. I want to hear from pro-life voters, although there’s no way to restrict participation by others. Let’s see if anything turns up here that’s not being reflected in campaign coverage so far.

  1. My preference is none of the above. The only reason I would vote for Brown would be to remove Shaheen. Shaheen is as corrupt and self-serving as any politician in office for more than a term. This is simpky recycling the trash so neither oarty gets entrenched.

On the other hand, I have no faith that either the blue or red team would ever support the citizens. Voting is essentially meaningless beyond the primary. What we need to do is secede from DC and clean up our own house.

    1. If cleaning up our own house means paying more attention to local races, I think you’re right. I hope that people turned off by the Shaheen/Brown race won’t stay home on Election Day. The down-ballot races, especially for state senate and state reps, are extremely important.

  2. As a NHRTL trustee, lots of folks are asking me how they should vote in this election…I’m not going to tell you how to vote. I will tell you who I am voting for for US Senate and why.

Here is the commercial with Brown supporting PP
    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/political-ad-tracker/2014/10/08/scott-brown-adwatch/16920793/

In the ad, Brown says, “I’m pro-choice. I support continued funding for Planned Parenthood, and I believe women should have access to contraception.”

In my mind, any vote for Brown / Shaheen is a vote for abortion on demand. Personally, I don’t want to be brought before my maker having to answer for this vote…I’m going to write in Bob Smith. If Brown gets in, we lose bigger than if Shaheen gets in because the NH GOP will continue to think they can give us “leaders” like Brown (and they’ll continue to pay more money to sink their own social conservatives). Smith will lose, and so will the GOP…but sometimes when you lose, you win. My recommendation to lifers with this race would be to think of any true pro-life NH leader you respect and write them in for NH US Senate. Send a message to the NH GOP that it’s not okay to pay to ensure loses for social conservatives. We need real a real leader to vote for in 2016.

Also, please contact the NH GOP and ask for their reasons why the revised platform has not been published yet. It’s also not okay for them to deny their delegates the PERSONHOOD platform that they voted in. (See this link for more on how the recent delegates at the convention changed the platform…which the NH GOP has swept under the carpet and sat on ever since…) http://nhrtlpac.org/happy-birthday/
